Frequently Asked Questions

No. Therapy sessions are offered exclusively through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Virtual therapy allows you to meet from a private, comfortable location without needing to commute to an office.
-
No. I can only provide virtual therapy to clients who are physically located in Colorado at the time of their session. Licensing laws generally require clinicians to be authorized to practice in the state where the client is physically located, even when the session takes place virtually.
-
No. I provide therapy exclusively to adults age 18 and older.
-
I am currently able to accept Aetna, Cigna, and Select Health as an in-network provider. Insurance coverage varies by plan, so I recommend confirming your specific benefits with your insurance provider before beginning therapy.
-
No. I am not a Medicaid or Medicare provider. I also cannot accept self-pay clients who are enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare, as federal program rules prohibit providers from accepting private payment for covered services. This restriction is based on Medicaid and Medicare requirements, rather than a practice policy.
-
My self-pay rate is $160 for a 50-minute therapy session.

There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Sessions can be scheduled as frequently or infrequently as appropriate for your needs and goals, including weekly, biweekly (every other week), or less frequently. We can adjust the frequency over time as your circumstances and progress change. Certain safety concerns may require a higher level of care or a different treatment schedule.
-
What you share in therapy is generally kept confidential and is not disclosed without your written permission, with limited exceptions required by law. These may include situations involving serious and imminent safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a valid legal requirement such as a court order. The limits of confidentiality will be reviewed with you at the beginning of therapy.
-
Your spiritual or religious beliefs can be an important part of understanding your values, identity, and experiences. If spirituality is relevant to your concerns or goals, you are welcome to discuss it in therapy. I approach these conversations with curiosity and respect for your beliefs without imposing my own religious or spiritual views.
-
Text and email are available for scheduling, administrative questions, and brief communication related to your care. They are not monitored continuously and should not be used for crisis support, urgent concerns, or ongoing therapeutic conversations. Clinical concerns are best addressed during scheduled sessions.
-
No. I do not provide formal ADHD or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments or diagnostic evaluations. If an assessment would be helpful, I can discuss appropriate referral options with you.
-
No. I do not provide emotional support animal (ESA) letters. Determining whether an animal is appropriate for an individual requires an evaluation that includes sufficient observation and consideration of the person's interaction with the animal, and this is not an area in which I have specialized training. If you are seeking an ESA letter, services that specialize in these evaluations, such as Pettable, may be better suited to your needs.
