Julia Schafer, LCSW

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m really glad you’ve found your way here, and I hope this can be a space where you feel understood and supported.

I help teens and adults who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, perfectionism, or people-pleasing find their way back to calm, confidence, and clarity. I know how hard it can be to look like you have it all together on the outside while feeling anxious, unsure, or overwhelmed on the inside. As I learned how to show up for myself with more compassion and let go of impossible standards, I discovered tools that helped me heal—and now I’m here to walk alongside others as they do the same.

What You Can Expect From Me

My goal as a therapist is to support you in understanding where these patterns come from, and to help you create new ways of showing up in your life that are aligned with your values, not just your stress.

I believe that therapy should help you make sense of your emotions—not just manage them. If you’re ready to stop holding it all together and start feeling more like yourself again, I’d love to work with you.

Specialties & Expertise

My work is especially focused on helping clients with:

My Approach

Therapy with me is a conversation. My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I use evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, and ERP to help you explore what’s keeping you stuck and build practical tools to move forward. Together, we’ll work to create a space where you can slow down, be fully seen, and begin to shift the internal pressure that’s been weighing you down.

Therapy Modalities

I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Unified Protocol (UP)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Our work will be grounded in practical strategies and deep insight. I’ll support you in making meaningful shifts, without judgment and at a pace that feels right for you.
